Ever read someone’s story and think, ‘this is exactly what I needed to hear today'? Your story can do that for someone else.
Our stories, whilst all unique, are all completely normal. And talking about them is important for all of us. It could help someone else in a similar situation. It could help us better understand what's happening for people at the end of life. Or, it could just help you.
We're looking for stories to feature on the Dying Matters channels and website, and to help us, and our parent charity Hospice UK, better understand what is happening for people who are dying, and who have been bereaved.
Tell us about your experience of losing a loved one - the impact on your life, your memories, and your experience of the care they received.
If you hear or see something that you relate to - from someone who has been through a comparable experience or has felt similar emotions - then this can help you feel less alone. That's why we need to hear from you.
Fill in our form above, or check out the FAQs below.
By submitting your story, you are agreeing for us to use the story on our website or social media, as part of a policy report or fundraising appeal, or perhaps in the media. We may get in touch with you to ask for additional words or images to accompany your story.
We may also get in touch to see if you would like to be filmed or interviewed about your experiences.
Unfortunately we can’t guarantee that we will publish your story, but we will do our best to. We may also have to edit content, but if we do so significantly, we will email to confirm the changes with you first before publishing it.
At Dying Matters, we are working to widen access to end of life care and bereavement support services, and to make sure that everyone – no matter who they are – should receive the best possible care at the end of their life.
Your story will help us to understand where people are being let down and how we can make it better for all.
